Terms of Service

1. What hijackMac does
hijackMac monitors Apple product pages and notifies you by email (and optionally by SMS, on the Max tier) when it detects a change — such as a new chip, additional RAM, a new configuration, or a price shift. Alerts are informational only; they are not financial advice, purchase recommendations, or guarantees of any kind.
hijackMac operates on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee the timing of alerts, the accuracy of detected changes, or that we will catch every change Apple makes. The Apple store is a moving target and our monitors can miss things.
hijackMac is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. Apple, Mac, Mac Studio, MacBook, and iMac are trademarks of Apple Inc.
2. Subscriptions
hijackMac uses accountless email subscriptions. There is no password, no profile, and no dashboard to log into. Each subscription is identified by a unique manage link sent to your email address.
All subscriptions require a confirmed (double) opt-in: after you subscribe, we send a confirmation email and your alert is not activated until you click the confirm link. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
3. Paid plans
hijackMac offers four tiers: Free, Plus, Pro, and Max. Plus, Pro, and Max are annual, auto-renewing subscriptions billed via Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring annual basis until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal; no partial refunds are provided for the remainder of the current term.
- SMS alerts are an optional add-on available on the Max tier and require separate opt-in (phone number verification).
- All billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your payment details.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use hijackMac to automate or resell alerts to others without our written permission.
- Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract data from the hijackMac service or its underlying infrastructure.
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or the rights of others.
- Interfere with the service’s operation or place unreasonable load on our systems.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
hijackMac is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that alerts will be timely or accurate. You use the service at your own risk.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, hijackMac and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including missed changes, delayed alerts, or purchase decisions made based on alerts. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
7. Service changes and discontinuation
We may change the products we monitor, modify tier features or pricing, or discontinue the service at any time. If we discontinue a paid plan, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected subscribers and issue prorated refunds for unused subscription time.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by email to active subscribers. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
